This type flooring has a hardwood, high-density fiberboard or plywood for a core usually in three layers or even more. Numerous layers afford more stability. It is topped with a hardwood veneer of 1/16'' to 1/8'' inch, which is pre-finished.

It's produced as a look alike for majority of hardwoods. Scratches can be sanded, but how many times are dependent on how thick the top layer is and three times is tops for sanding. It can be installed in three ways, but that is dependent on the kind of engineered flooring. The 3/8'' inch thick flooring is the nail it down kind because this reduces the instability caused by the thinness. The 1/2'' flooring is stable enough to be glued because it is thicker or it can be nailed. Boards that are 5/8''thick are the floating flooring. This means that that planks are snapped together, possibly glued together, and the floor sits on its sub-floor, but isn't attached.

Maintenance? It's easy to clean by vacuuming and use damp mop for mopping. Use a cleaner that the manufacturer suggests, it should be ph-balanced and mild. Keith Clay Flooring proudly sells hardwood flooring. How exciting right!
